Camelot – supporting the Society of Editors since 2001
Camelot is proud to support the Society of Editors’ Annual Conference.
Since its launch in 1994, The National Lottery has delivered a life-changing £37 billion for Good Causes, with more than 510,000 individual awards made across the UK – an average of over 170 lottery grants in every neighbourhood. It has also paid out over £63 billion in prizes and created more than 4,600 millionaires or multi-millionaires.
The National Lottery is at the heart of communities across the UK and benefits millions of people’s lives – just as the national, regional and local media do every day. Thanks to your invaluable support over the past 23 years, National Lottery winners have been able to share their good news, missing ticket-holders have been united with their previously unclaimed winnings and a huge range of projects have been able to highlight the life-changing difference they make thanks to vital National Lottery funding.
Camelot wishes the Society of Editors a hugely successful conference.

The Partnerships teams are also committed to training journalists, hosting workshops and sessions in newsrooms as well as providing online training and resources. Facebook is also working on ways to give people more context about articles, so they can be more informed about the news they read online.

Foot Anstey
Foot Anstey LLP is a premier regional law firm providing specialist advice to a wide range of publishers throughout the UK. We deliver a high quality, high value service that is underpinned by strong investment in our greatest assets – our people. Tony Jaffa and his colleagues at Foot Anstey have been advising the regional press for more than 20 years. One respected editor recently said that being a journalist is the best job in the world. That may be right – but being a journalist’s lawyer runs a close second! Through our time as advisers to the regional press, we have been able to become an integral part of the work that journalists carry out every day.
SoE members will already know something about Foot Anstey as the firm is a regular supporter of this conference. Tony has been an SoE member for many years and is a member of the Society’s P&L Committee. The other members of the team are rising stars in the sector, and are already well known to a fair number of conference delegates. Many SoE members are also clients of Foot Anstey’s editorial and regulatory media team, and they know that our national reputation for giving accurate, speedy and practical advice to journalists and publishers, on all aspects of media law, is well deserved.
And they know that the service we provide to publishing clients is commercially realistic, robust and compatible with their own business goals. But don’t take our word for our expertise – we are recognised as leaders in our field by independent research from Chambers UK and the Legal 500 as well as ranked in the UK’s Top 100 Law Firms. The firm was previously named Regional Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards, and was recently shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year. Our clients tell us we are down to earth and easy to do business with – and we hope you think so too!
HoldTheFrontPage
HoldtheFrontPage works closely with the Society of Editors to help deliver the Regional Press Awards each May and we are delighted once again to be helping to promote and publicise the Society’s annual conference.
Highlighting the vital work done by regional newspapers and why they remain a highly trusted source of news is central to what we do, so we are particularly pleased to be supporting this year’s conference as it explores this issue.
First launched in 2000, HTFP continues to be the first port of call for all regional press news and jobs, and we also carry a range of vacancies from other media sectors, including news and content agencies, specialist media and public sector PR.
