DMG Media Mail Metro Media Adland Commits Black Lives Matter charter, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Champions network and MMM x Equality Sessions

Mail Metro Media, the advertising arm of DMG Media, has signed up to the Adland Commits Black Lives Matter charter; in 2021 Mail Metro Media launched an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Champions network that drives conversation around inclusion; and keynote speakers at MMM x Equality Sessions cover topics such as inclusive language and ethnicity.

Evening Standard: a sustainable and lasting approach to diversity

The Evening Standard is strongly committed to developing a sustainable and lasting approach to diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the organisation’s wider people strategy and facilitate an inclusive, equitable and diverse workforce. ESL has invested in a company-wide coaching culture and is working in partnership with DEI experts at Project 23 to create sustainable change.

Financial Times

Editorial operates an informal mentoring scheme, matching early-career journalists with a senior colleague to discuss work-related issues and help them integrate more comfortably into the newsroom.

The FT’s employee-run networks play an integral role in connecting individuals and providing a sense of community and culture. They include Proud FT, FT Embrace, FT Women, FT Families, FT Sustainability, FT Mental Health and FT Access.

Initiatives within News UK designed to foster a sense of belonging include the organisation’s networks, the Cultural Diversity Network, News for Parents and others; a Diversity and Inclusion Development Programme that features sessions on, for example, building inclusive teams; Diversity Action Groups within brands across the business that consult both on sensitive issues for minority communities and making teams more inclusive; and workshops on Reporting on Race.
