The Society of Editors Annual Conference will take place in Manchester on Sunday November 4 and Monday November 5 2018.

The theme will be ‘The Trust Factor – And How to Fund It.’ Paul Dacre, outgoing Editor of the Daily Mail, is to deliver the Society of Editors Annual Lecture to launch the conference on the evening of Sunday November 4 at the Lowry Hotel. The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport will deliver a keynote address on Monday 5 November with Katharine Viner, Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian and Lloyd Embley, Group Editor-in-Chief at Reach plc also down to address delegates.

In what is always one of the most important dates in the media calendar, the conference is set to debate and explore the most topical issues facing the industry today.

The conference will start with the President’s Reception and Society Lecture followed by an evening networking buffet on the afternoon and evening of Sunday, November 4 at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

The full-day conference takes place the following day, again at the Lowry Hotel.

“I can think of no more fitting place to stage this year’s conference than the vibrant city of Manchester which continues to be a focal point for the regeneration of not just the proud city itself but the region as a whole,” added Murray.
