Media Freedom Awards entry deadline extended

Posted on: July 26, 2022 by Claire Meadows

The entry deadline for the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Awards has been extended to midnight on Saturday 6 August 2022.

The extension, granted after several requests, will see UK journalists and news media platforms given 10 additional days to submit entries for the prestigious awards.

Completely free to enter, the awards include categories such as Investigation of the Year, Campaign of the Year, Podcast of the Year and the News Media Organisation of the Year as well as an International News Media Award recognising organisations whose head office is based outside of the UK.
The awards are open to all UK-based journalists, news media organisations and platforms working in print, online, broadcast, mobile, audio, or any other news delivery format. They have been launched to celebrate the crucial role that UK journalists play in promoting media freedom, championing the public’s right to know and holding power to account on the worldwide platform. The awards will culminate with a high-profile awards ceremony later this year on 9 November 2022 in London.

Full details on how to enter and categories can be found here.
