Categories 2026

The News Podcast Awards 2026 recognise and celebrate the work of journalists and producers using podcasting to deliver high-quality news and current affairs journalism. Judged through a clear editorial lens and focused on impact, depth, public interest and engaging storytelling, the awards recognise news podcasting as journalism, not simply as an audio or video format.
To be eligible for the awards, podcasts must have aired between 1 April 2025 and 2 April 2026. Entrants should submit one episode or a compilation of multiple episodes alongside a supporting statement to illustrate their work. Audio files should be no longer than 60 minutes in length
A full list of categories appears below. Entries are now closed and a shortlist will be announced in May 2026.
