Congratulations to Bury Free Press reporter Rhoda Morrison who was awarded Trainee Journalist of the Year by the NCTJ for 2019 – an award sponsored by the Society of Editors.

Rhoda is pictured accepting her award at the NCTJ’s annual conference and gala dinner held in Sunderland.

Society of Editors executive director Ian Murray said the awards were important to underscore just what value the mainstream media places on training at a time of so much concern over fake news.

“Many congratulations to Rhoda on such a tremendous achievement,” added Ian.
