The deadline for entries for the Society of Editors’ Press Awards has been extended to Friday 22 January.
The awards, which celebrate the best of UK national journalism for 2020, include categories from the prestigious Newspaper and News Website of the Year awards to prizes celebrating campaigns, diversity initiatives and the work of individual journalists.
The Society is aware that during this time of increased pressure and activity for our industry, many publications and journalists are finding it difficult to meet the original January 13 deadline, for understandable reasons.
Chair of the judges and executive director of the Society, Ian Murray, said that he hoped this extension will enable all of those wishing to enter the awards to participate.
“Last year was one of the most tumultuous for our industry in recent times,” Murray said.
“It is vital that as an industry we are able not only to showcase the excellent work undertaken by the UK Press, but also to recognise, acknowledge and reward the very best of the best. The Press Awards 2020 will do just that.”
Submissions can be made via the awards site and it would be appreciated if entries could be made as early as possible.
In the meantime any queries should be directed to office@societyofeditors.org.
Good luck with your entries!
