The Society of Editors and The Daily Telegraph hosted a lunch with Alastair King-Smith, Deputy Director, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and coordinator, global campaign for media freedom. Attended by senior members of the UK media industry, the lunch centered around the UK’s role in the international media freedom campaign and upcoming London conference.
Mr King – Smith appraised those present of the background and aims of the campaign which is being co-hosted by the UK and Canada.
Some 70 government ministers from around the world are expected to attend the London conference on July 10th– 11th as well as one thousand delegates.
