The Evening Standard’s Homes & Property section has won a top award at the Property Press Awards, when it was named property supplement of the year 2020.

The awards, in their tenth year, are supported by Property4Media and recognise the best property and interiors journalism in the UK across 15 categories encompassing everything from property business journalism to gardening.

The online awards ceremony was hosted by TV property expert Phil Spencer.

Judges praised Homes & Property’s “good practical advice as well good campaigning journalism” and noted its appeal to a cross-section of society and budgets.

One judge said: “The Evening Standard entry showed that property can be topical and relevant to all and presented in a really engaging way. Good, clear and attractive graphics and images alongside strong writing made this a winner for me.”

Homes & Property editor Prudence Ivey said: “2020 has been a gruesome year but this award is a real bright spot. It’s a wonderful recognition of the work of a brilliant team, helmed by my inspirational predecessor Janice Morley.”
