The Glasgow Times has published a special eight-page supplement featuring the babies who came into the world after the UK went into lockdown.
Hundreds of stories submitted by families and friends of the newborns were sent to the regional daily and were shared with readers in print and online today.
Stacey Mullen, Audience and Content Editor at the Glasgow Times, told the SoE: “The Glasgow Times always puts community at the heart of its coverage and we wanted to give our readers a chance to celebrate the new additions to their families.
“We were overwhelmed by the number of readers who got in touch to tell us their story and we can’t wait to share all of Glasgow’s newest citizens.”
An initial marketing appeal ran in the paper and online in June to ask readers to take part in the initiative which celebrates the good things in life under a new normal.
Mullen added the Newsquest-owned paper had previous success using this format to engage readers on their website and during lockdown has run a series celebrating keyworkers and Father’s Day messages.
The Glasgow Times (previously known as the Evening Times) hopes to implement similar initiatives in the future.
