Lloyd Embley, group editor-in-chief of the Mirror titles, will deliver a keynote address at the Society of Editors conference in November.
Embley (pictured below), group editor since 2014, will address media figures when the conference heads to Manchester on Monday 5 November 2018.
The conference, a key event in the media calendar, will take place at the iconic Lowry Hotel and will focus this year on The Trust Factor – and How to Fund it. Paul Dacre, who announced he was stepping aside as Editor this year after 26-years at the helm of the Daily Mail, will deliver the prestigious Society of Editors Lecture on the evening of Sunday 4 November. Katharine Viner, Editor-in-chief of The Guardian will also deliver a keynote address on Monday 5.

Earlier this year Trinity Mirror acquired Northern & Shell’s papers and magazines (Daily & Sunday Express, Daily Star & Daily Star Sunday and OK, New & Star magazines) and then re-branded the group as Reach Plc. As Group Editor-in-Chief, Lloyd has overall editorial responsibility for all of the Reach titles.
Lloyd joined Trinity Mirror in 1994 as a sub-editor on the Daily Mirror. He has held several positions including, Deputy Chief Sub-Editor, Assistant Night Editor, Night Editor and Assistant Editor.
He became Editor of the Sunday People in 2008, and then editor of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror in 2012, before being appointed to editor-in-chief later that year. He was promoted to the role of Group Editor-in-Chief with editorial responsibility for Trinity Mirror’s national and regional newsbrands in 2014.
