HEADLINE SPONSORS
Facebook Journalism Project
Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
The Facebook Journalism Project is committed to strengthening communities by connecting people with meaningful journalism. As part of our work, the Facebook News Partnerships team collaborates with publishers, broadcasters, journalists, universities and other stakeholders across the news industry globally to promote quality journalism.
Our teams partner with news organisations to develop products and tools for newsrooms. The Partnerships team are also committed to training journalists, hosting workshops and sessions in newsrooms as well as providing online training and resources.
Camelot – supporting the Society of Editors since 2001
Camelot is proud to support the Regional Press Awards.
Since its launch in 1994, The National Lottery has delivered a life-changing £41 billion for Good Causes, with more than 565,000 individual awards made across the UK – an average of over 200 lottery grants in every postcode district. It has also awarded over £75 billion in prizes and created more than 5,700 millionaires or multi-millionaires.
The National Lottery is at the heart of communities across the UK and benefits millions of people’s lives – just as the national, regional and local media do every day. Thanks to your invaluable support over the past 26 years, National Lottery winners have been able to share their good news, missing ticket-holders have been united with their previously-unclaimed winnings and a huge range of projects have been able to highlight the life-changing difference they make thanks to vital National Lottery funding.
Google News Initiative
The Google News Initiative is focused on helping journalism thrive in the digital age through evolving business models to drive sustainable growth, elevating quality journalism and empowering new organisations with new technologies. We collaborate with the news industry to build a stronger future for journalism through our products, partnerships and programmes.
Amazon – sponsoring Young Journalist of the Year
Amazon aims to be Earth’s most customer-centric company. We have four core principles that guide us in delivering on our mission. These include customer obsession rather than competitor focus, nurturing a passion for invention, maintaining a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on long-term thinking.
We continue to invest in the UK economy – over £23bn since 2010 – to provide convenience, selection and value to UK consumers. Last year we announced that we’re adding another 10,000 new jobs in the UK, bringing our total workforce to over 40,000. The UK has now become one of our largest global hubs for talent, with staff working across our R&D operations in Cambridge, Edinburgh and London, our corporate offices in Manchester and London and our fulfilment and distribution centres across the country.
HoldTheFrontPage – sponsoring Daily and Weekly Front Page of the Year
HoldtheFrontPage was launched in the year 2000 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in February last year.
As the home of regional press news and jobs, highlighting the vital work done by regional press journalists has always been a key part of what we do, and each day on our site we carry examples of campaigns, charity efforts, freedom of information battles and numerous other ways in which local newspapers have made a difference to their communities.
As well as carrying all the latest industry news, our jobs listings continue to reach a wide audience of UK journalists and PR professionals, with around 70,000 monthly unique users, 14,000 registered jobseekers, more than 21,000 followers on Twitter and 2,500 subscribers to our daily email bulletin.
Despite the Covid-19 outbreak and the resulting lockdowns, we have seen an increase in our audience over the past year as readers continued to turn to HoldtheFrontPage as an independent, trusted source of news on how regional media are covering the pandemic.
We are delighted to be continuing our long association with the Regional Press Awards this year by sponsoring the Daily and Weekly Front Page of the Year categories for a second time, as well as offering general promotional support through our website. As our name suggests, we already try to showcase great front pages on a daily basis through our Front Page News channel so we are particularly pleased to be sponsoring these two prizes.

The Journalists’ Charity
Once again, the Journalists’ Charity is proud to support the Regional Press Awards.
In a year that has been especially tough on the industry, the charity is delighted to have an opportunity to celebrate the incredible role being played by regional journalists and honour the value and importance of journalism.
For more than 150 years the Journalists’ Charity has given financial assistance and welfare support to struggling journalists from all sectors of the industry, nationwide. In a Covid-stricken 2020, grants from the Journalists’ Charity prevented fifteen journalists and their families from losing their homes. Hundreds of others affected by the pandemic received crisis support as part of a rapid response aimed at minimising stress and preserving good mental health. As the pandemic continues to impact our industry, the charity stands ready to offer further assistance.
You can help support the Journalists’ Charity by joining their database and spreading the word to colleagues and friends.
The Journalists’ Charity would like to say a massive thank you for your outstanding work during the most challenging of years. We look forward to celebrating journalism with you at the awards in spring.
Good luck & take care,
The Journalists’ Charity
